Up in the Sky: Luisa & Enrico’s Destination Wedding in Cortina, Italian Dolomites

Luisa and Enrico’s wedding was one of those celebrations that brings everything back to true values—authenticity, simplicity, and deep respect for nature. For this reason, they chose the mountains and their beloved Dolomites as the setting for their wedding in Cortina.
Surrounded by peaks that have always been part of their story, their celebration unfolded naturally, with elegance rooted in the landscape itself. A destination wedding in the Dolomites where love, friendship, and nature blended effortlessly.
Cortina d'Ampezzo: The Perfect Setting for a Wedding in the Italy Dolomites
Often referred to as the Pearl of the Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo is one of the most iconic mountain destinations in Italy, framed by some of the most breathtaking alpine peaks.
After visiting several locations together, the couple chose Rifugio Col Drusciè, a place that immediately resonated with their vision. Its wide green meadow, embraced by the surrounding Dolomite summits, offered a setting where the ceremony could feel intimate yet expansive—completely immersed in nature.
For couples dreaming of a destination wedding in Cortina, Col Drusciè represents a perfect balance between raw mountain beauty and refined hospitality.

The Wedding Day: From Preparation to Ceremony
Luisa and Enrico arrived at Hotel Dolomiti the evening before the wedding together with their wedding party. This moment was dedicated to friendship and connection—sharing laughter and anticipation before the big day.
On the wedding morning, preparations unfolded calmly and smoothly. Once ready, the couple headed toward the cable car that would take them up to Col Drusciè.
To ensure a seamless experience, a dedicated shuttle service was organized for guests, collecting them directly from their hotels in Cortina and bringing them to the cable car parking area. From there, the ascent by gondola became part of the experience itself—an unforgettable approach to a wedding in the mountains.
Guests were welcomed at the Masi Wine Bar at the ground floor with a refined refreshment featuring a selection of Cantina Masi wines and local bites inspired by regional cuisine, setting the tone for an authentic destination wedding Cortina experience.
Ceremony & Aperitivo with a View
When it was time for the ceremony, the groom and guests gathered on the meadow, gently set with colorful floral compositions designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape—never overpowering, always respectful of nature.
Luisa arrived radiant, joyful, and full of energy, ready to celebrate this moment with spontaneity and heartfelt emotion.
After the ceremony and a few portraits among the Dolomites, guests moved to the panoramic terrace for an Italian-style aperitivo overlooking the peaks.
The menu focused on local ingredients and mountain traditions, reinterpreted with a contemporary touch: crispy fried porcini mushrooms, finger food with local cheeses and cured meats, revisited regional recipes, and mini burgers—creating a convivial and generous atmosphere.
To enrich the experience, thoughtfully curated interactive stations were available during the aperitivo. A Polaroid station allowed guests to take instant photos to keep as souvenirs or attach to the guestbook, creating spontaneous memories. Nearby, a seating chart inspired by the mountain setting was crafted using natural wooden planks and wax seals, enriched with delicate inclusions of mountain flower petals—an artisanal detail echoing the raw beauty of the Dolomites.
Cake Cutting & Evening Celebration
After dinner and a few games lovingly organized by the couple’s friends, guests returned to the terrace for a truly Italian after-dinner ritual.
Coffee was served alongside a traditional amaro and grappa trolley, offering a relaxed tasting experience rooted in Italian conviviality—slow, warm, and shared.
As the light softened and the sun set behind the mountains, the cake arrived. Luisa and Enrico cut their cake with the Dolomites glowing at sunset behind them, raising a toast framed by peaks, sky, and friendship.
A perfect ending to a day that celebrated love, nature, and connection—an unforgettable wedding in Cortina, suspended between earth and sky.
